Transfer Students

The instructions below will guide students through the process of transferring to NMSU Grants from another academic institution. If you have never attended another academic institution, you will need to refer the  First-Time College Student   page. If you are a new NMSU Grants student, please make sure you have completed steps 1-4 prior to scheduling an appointment with an advisor



You will need to perform the following tasks:
  1. Create an account   to submit an online application   (Note: this account is for Admissions only)
  2. Submit an online application. Select “   Grants” as your campus. The $20 application fee will be waived.

After you have submitted your application, you will receive a letter of congratulations from NMSU Grants. You will be assigned an identification number that is referred to as your Aggie ID. You will need that ID when you create a myNMSU account in step 5
Have   official transcripts  (from high school,   GED®   ,   HiSET®   , and/or previous college(s) sent to.   OR NMSU Grants, 1500 N. 3rd St., Grants, NM, 87020. We accept official transcriptions in print and digital format.

Official transcripts must come directly from the institution where you obtained your diploma. If the document is delivered to us from anyone, other than the institution, it is not considered an official transcript

All new students to NMSU Grants are required to complete a New Student Orientation prior to registering for classes. Students are invited to attend one of our face-to-face New Student Orientations or you can complete orientation online through Canvas.

Payment Due Dates and Options

Payment is due in full by September 15 for the fall semester, February 15 for the spring semester, and June 15 for the summer session. Those who wish to utilize the payment plan option will be charged a fee of $10 to accounts not paid in full by the 15th of each month during the term.

Change of Campus Eligibility to Transfer

You must have at least a 2.0 cumulative grade point average (GPA), and 30 completed college credit hours
Have completed CCDE 110N and/or are eligible to enroll in ENGL 111
Have completed CCDM 114N and/or are eligible to enroll in MATH 120/MATH 210G
An ACT/SAT is only required if you have completed less than 30 college credits after high school graduation
