David Bishop (Program Manager), Associate Professor, dabishop@nmsu.edu, (505) 287 – 6649

David Bishop grew up in Iowa, Illinois, and Michigan. He spent most of his childhood in Macomb, Illinois. Mathematics runs in his family. His father, all three of his siblings, and David all have advanced degrees in mathematics. David has a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in mathematics from Western Illinois University.

He has been teaching mathematics since 1986 at both four-year colleges and here at NMSU Grants. David likes teaching at the community college because it allows him the opportunity to meet and work with students with diverse backgrounds, experience, and cultures. Through his teaching, he hopes to help students learn and use mathematics in a constructive way that is meaningful, relevant, and useful as they pursue their education and enter the workforce.

David is married to his best friend Suzanne. David and his wife enjoy camping, fishing, traveling, visiting family, and exploring New Mexico and the many cultures it has to offer.

David wants you to know that he is here for you and if you need help, just ask!
