Students will be qualified for entry-level Computer Technician, System Administrator and Network Administrator positions. Course content aligns with many industry certifications including Comptia A+, Comptia Network+, Microsoft, Linux and Cisco exams.
About the Program

The program prepares students for entry positions in web design, graphic design and printing. The Web Fundamentals Certificate leads into the Creative Media Associate’s degree. Students can also take the Game Design Certificate that will prepare them for 2D and 3D design and animation.

Career Opportunities

The Computer Technology Program is designed for students to start with no knowledge or experience and progress. Students should start with the Certificate and take all of the required OECS courses. That can be completed in two or three semesters. Then students can complete the general education courses like English, Sciences, etc. to complete the Associate’s degree in year two. Courses from this degree will transfer to a completely online Bachelor of Information and Communication Technology degree. That degree can be completed in 2 additional years. Recently, NMSU-LC has added an online Master’s Degree as well. So NMSU Grants Computer Technology Certificate can take you as far in your career as you want to go.
Career Opportunities

The Creative Media program is designed to prepare students for many careers in digital design. Common industry software is taught to prepare students to step into their first position and be comfortable with the software. We teach Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Dreamweaver. The Game Design courses teach AutoDesk 3D Studio Max, Epic Unreal Engine, Zbrush and more. Whether the student was to be a web designer, graphic designer or game designer. You can get started at NMSU Grants.
