Eight NMSU Grants students attended a Symposium on Student Retention at UNM on October 17 and 18 which included staff and students from colleges and universities throughout New Mexico.  Three of the students presented a workshop called “Walking in Two worlds” in which they talked about the particular challenges and advantages of being a Native American college studentOsie Etcitty participated on a panel before all of the concert attendees.  Many thanks to Xavier Bitsui, Osie Etcitty, Shaundene Begay, Tiffany Tafoya, Yvette Cohoe, Lawrence Martinez, Krystal Miller, and Vyron Pino for representing our college very well and stepping up to offer their own stories to a very appreciative crowd.
