Description/Mission:
Grants Community Pantry is a branch of the Community Pantry of Gallup, one of the 6 food banks in New Mexico. It's mission is "to acquire. store, distribute wholesome food to children, the elderly, and families in Cibola County, New Mexico, so that no one goes hungry".

Student Service Learning Opportunities:

  • Hands-on community service experience providing food to the local community.
  • First-hand experience in interpersonal relationships.
  • Working knowledge of food management operations.
  • Orientation/Training Schedule:
    On-site orientation during first day.

    Special Conditions/Requirements:

  • Some computer skills helpful.
  • Some lifting required.
  • Additional Comments/Concerns:
    The pantry is open Monday through Friday from 10am to 3pm, except holidays. Help is especially needed on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.

    Number of Service Learning Students Needed: 1 or 2 per day
    Hours of Operation When Students are Needed: 10am-3pm Tuesday, Thursday and Friday
    Minimum Hour Commitment Required: 5 hours/week
