Part-Time Professional Tutor Position
NMSU Grants is seeking one part-time professional tutor (20 hours per week, may include evenings and Saturdays) to provide academic tutorial services in writing to a diverse population on campus. The primary goal of the Writing Center is to support students and community members by using learner-centered tutoring methods. The tutor will assist students with different types of writing, including argumentative papers, lab reports, resumes, cover letters, personal statements, fiction, and poetry. Consultations will be in-person and online. The tutor must possess outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, participate in ongoing staff training, perform community outreach, and develop writing resources. Minimum educational requirements: bachelor’s degree in the above mentioned subject area. This is a temporary per semester position.
