NMSU Grants hosts Technology Summit for Casinos

The NMSU Grants Computer Science Program hosted the first Technology Summit for Casino technology leaders. Students, faculty and campus administrators met with representatives from Sky City Casino and Apache Nugget Corporation in order to build a solid pipeline to jobs for NMSU students. The Computer Science program offers an IT Boot Camp format that provides students with hands on experience and prepares them for industry certifications like Comptia A+ and Network+. The IT Boot Camp is a compressed, intensive program that prepares students for I.T jobs. NMSU Grants wants to increase collaboration with Tribal entities and Casinos to increase the number of Native American students working in the I. T. field. The next Boot Camp starts on August 16, 2017. If you are interested, contact Karen Henry at kmhenry@nmsu.edu or a campus advisor at (505) 287-6678. Federal financial aid and Workforce training funds may be available for eligible students.
