Outreach Centers

OutreachCenters

Funded by the Hispanic Serving Institutions (HSI,Title V) and Native American Serving Non-Tribal Institutions (NASNTI, Title III) federal grants, NMSU Grants has worked closely with five local communities to establish educational outreach centers. Each center is operated and managed independently, although each participates in the Leadership Council chaired by Dr. Shawn Secatero, Principal Investigator for the NASNTI grant.

The tables below characterize the five outreach centers, as supported by these two federal grants. The NASNTI grant funds two different types of centers:

Computer Outreach at Acoma and To’hajiilee, solely funded by the NASNI grant including adult education instructors and tutors as well as computer lab resources;

Partnerships at Laguna, Pine Hill/Ramah, and Thoreau, which NASNTI supports through computer and software services donated to local community organizations.

The Title V support for centers at Acoma Learning Center, Laguna Library, Oso Vista Ranch Project (Pine Hill/Ramah), and the Thoreau Community Center can also be considered as partnerships.
