Education Program

Welcome to the Education Program at NMSU Grants.

The Education Department at NMSU-Grants offers an Associate in Early Childhood Education and an Associate in Education. The degree in Early Childhood Education consists of 71 total credits while the degree in Education consists of 68 total credits. Most education elective classes are offered on a rotational basis, so please see an advisor when planning which classes you want to take each semester. Core education classes are usually offered each semester, and available as a traditional class or on-line and hybrid. Education students have an opportunity in most classes to participate in Service Learning.

Both degrees are intended to prepare students for transfer to a four-year college for a completion of a bachelor’s degree. Students wishing to transfer to NMSU-Las Cruces should consult with the Distance Education Coordinator for a transfer degree plan.

The Education Department also is associated with The Reach To Teach Club which supports the growth and development of pre-service teachers along with networking our students with experienced teachers in our area.
