Math Training Specialist Teacher Sr. (Requisition # S00780A)

New Mexico State University Grants is seeking applicants for Title V Math Training Specialist, Teacher Sr. This position is full-time (40 hours per week, M-F) for 12 months. Salary: $36,000 minimum with benefits. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a related field; Five (5) years of experience directly related to the standard duties as outlined. 1) Evaluate current curricula for developmental math classes. 2) Develop, design, and pilot/teach new curricula for all developmental math classes and MATH 120. 3) Provide structured supplemental instruction and individual drop-in tutoring for all levels of mathematics. 4) Provide refresher math courses during the interim semesters. Title V Grant Specialist (Requisition # 1400735S)

New Mexico State University Grants is seeking applicants for Title V Grant Specialist to manage a U.S. Department of Education five-year Title V Grant (full-time/40 hours per week). Salary: $41,000.00 minimum, commensurate with education and experience. Minimum qualifications: Bachelor degree in Education or related field in hand by date of hire and three (3) years of professional experience related to the standard duties as outlined. Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in Education or related field. Experience working with the following: US Department of Education grant programs; two years of budget, project development or project management experience desired; community college experience; experience serving non-traditional, and/or other at-risk student-based initiatives. This position will serve as the Principal Investigator for the Title V grant. Duties and responsibilities include:

- Reports to NMSU Grants campus President.
– Provide overall project leadership and supervision, ensuring accomplishment of federal, five-year Title V grant project objectives.
– Facilitate, oversee implementation of effective, objective annual grant evaluation by contracted evaluator.
– Collaborate with and support Title V grant objectives to create academic support services for academic under prepared students.
– Supervise Title V grant funded staff to insure grant objective compliance.
– Maintain communication with college administration of Title V project objective progress, concerns.
– Assume responsibility for Title V grant budget, approving expenditures, ensuring appropriate use of federal funds aligned within parameters of NMSU Grants Title V grant objectives.
– Communicate/collaborate with NMSU-Grants Business Office with all aspects of Title V grant expenditures and reporting.
– Communicate/Collaborate with NMSU Office of Grants and Contracts when appropriate to grant management.
– Oversee Title V grant project reporting, including fiscal and technical reports for NMSU, NMSU Grants and U.S. Dept. of Education.
– Responsible for Title V annual performance report to U.S. Department of Education.
– Maintain effective communication and campus-wide collaboration to ensure Title V grant project’s congruence with institutional goals.
– Remain current regarding Title V and U.S. Dept. of Education policies, grant terms, and conditions to ensure project compliance throughout five-year grant period.
– Participate in Title V grant related training.

Technology Support Tech (Requisition # 1400734S)

New Mexico State University Grants has an opening for a full-time (40 hours per week, M-F) Technology Support Technician. Salary: $12.98 per hour with benefits. Under the direct supervision of the System Analyst, Sr. this position will coordinate with campus IT staff to develop online student support focused on web based courses; Install, configure, and manage technological infrastructure that supports faculty and student online instruction; perform job duties to support IT infrastructure and IT systems; assist in setup of off-site computer labs to support distance education students along with NMSU Grants IT staff; provide technological troubleshooting to ensure adequate, appropriate network and technology support for faculty, staff and students; advise the faculty and staff in maximizing benefits of technology infrastructure in support of online instruction. Perform related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent G.E.D. certificate; Two (2) years of related experience; Equivalency of completion of a post-secondary degree or certificate may substitute for years of experience. Knowledge of current technological developments/trends in area of expertise. Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures. Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
