The 3rd Annual New Mexico Indian Basketball Classic & Education Fair is set for January 2-4, 2014, at the Santa Ana Star Center. The NMAIC is sanctioned by the New Mexico Activities Association and will feature 32 talented American Indian high school basketball teams from New Mexico and Arizona. The tournament bracket will consist of 4 divisions that include large schools (Class 2A-4A) and small schools (Class B-A) for both boys and girls teams. On April 16, 2013, New Mexico Space Grant Consortium awarded 26 Fellowships and Scholarships to students across New Mexico totaling $210,000. Zachery Smith, of Grants, NM, and Sophomore at New Mexico State University-Grants, was awarded $ 5000 for research entitled “Hydro-logical Study of Ancient Water Flows.” (read more…)
